Macau Jazz Week 2025

「澳門爵士週」始於2012年，由澳門爵士樂推廣協會主辦，邀請外來及本地樂隊演出並提供多元化的活動。參與今屆主題為＜文化．文學與音樂＞的兩位音樂家鄭澤相（Tay Cher Siang）（馬來西亞）及許郁瑛（台灣）都有著深厚的文化及文學連結：鄭澤相的村上春樹企劃結合朗讀與音樂；許郁瑛的多張個人專輯都反映出文化底韻。今屆亦邀得兩位主演者於演出舉行講座，討論他們的創作理念和音樂觀點，此外還有工作坊、滙演和本地團隊的專場，令爵士樂更融入澳門的生活。

Macau Jazz Week, debut in 2012 and hosted by the Macau Jazz Promotion Association, invites both international and local musicians to perform and offering a diverse activities. The two musicians participating this year, themed "Culture, Literature, and Music," are Tay Cher Siang (Malaysia) and YuYing Hsu (Taiwan), both of whom have profound cultural and literary connections: Tay Cher Siang's Haruki Murakami project integrates recitation with music, while YuYing Hsu's numerous solo albums reflect a deep cultural resonance. This year, the two headliners have also been invited to hold talks to discuss their creative philosophies and musical perspectives. Additionally, there will be workshops, jam sessions, and dedicated performances by local bands, aiming to further integrate jazz into the life of Macau.

爵士工作坊 & 樂手大滙演

Jazz Workshop & Big Jazz Jam

本屆首場活動由來自馬來西亞的WVC樂隊的工作坊展開，由鋼琴手鄭澤相帶領低音結他手AJ Popshuvit，鼓手Adriel Wong及得邀歌手Junji Delfino，提供本澳音樂愛好者學習機會。另外爵士樂最重要的原素就是即興演奏，因此每屆澳門爵士音樂週都有樂手大滙演，介時本地樂手將與嘉賓樂手同台顯技。

The first event of Macau Jazz Week will begin with a workshop by the WVC Trio from Malaysia, led by pianist Tay Cher Siang along with bassist AJ Popshuvit, drummer Adriel Wong, and invited vocalist Junji Delfino, providing music lovers in Macau with learning opportunities. Additionally, a key element of jazz is improvisation, thus each Macau Jazz Music Week features a jam session where local musicians showcase their talent alongside guest artists.

《聽風的歌》 — 村上春樹與爵士樂音樂會及講座

“Hear the Wind Sing” Haruki Murakami and Jazz Concert and Talk

“由村上春樹的作品貫穿整個演出，以爵士樂穿針引線帶出村上世界的趣味。十四首樂曲，一半是鄭澤相受村上影響的創作，一半是村上作品中提到的經典爵士曲目。用耳朵重新閱讀村上春樹的奇異世界。"

《聽風的歌》這個結合文學與音樂的項目始於馬來西亞華人音樂家鄭澤相（Tay Cher Siang），除了是該地一線樂隊WVC的領隊及活躍亞洲各國的樂手外，鄭氏亦是位文學愛好者。日本作家村上春樹廣為人知，作品多樣亦被翻譯為多國語言。村上亦是著名的爵士樂迷，於其文引用大量音樂。 此項目已多次公演並受到樂迷及文化愛好者支持，演出為朗讀與音樂互動，鄭氏特別為是次演出重新編排內容，將與他的三重奏樂隊成員（AJ Popshuvit和Adriel Wong）演奏外，更邀得馬來西亞爵士女歌手Junji Delfino及華人作家黎紫書參以華語朗讀村上選綷。

在這場別出心裁的演出前，本會將邀請鄭氏於講座中談論他對爵士樂和文學的看法。

The works of Haruki Murakami run through the entire performance, with jazz music weaving a thread through the fascinating world of Murakami. Of the fourteen musical pieces, half are original compositions by Tay Cher Siang, influenced by Murakami, and the other half are jazz classics mentioned in Murakami's works. Re-read the fantastic world of Haruki Murakami with your ears.

This project, "Hear the Wind Sing," which combines literature and music, was initiated by Malaysian Chinese musician Tay Cher Siang. In addition to being the leader of the top local band WVC and a musician active across Asian countries, Tay is also a literary enthusiast. The Japanese author Haruki Murakami is widely known, and his diverse works have been translated into multiple languages. Murakami is also a renowned jazz aficionado, and his writings feature numerous musical references.

This project has been performed multiple times, receiving support from music fans and cultural enthusiasts. The performance is an interplay between literary reading and music. For this particular performance, Tay has specially rearranged the content. He will be performing with his trio members (AJ Popshuvit and Adriel Wong), and has also invited Malaysian jazz vocalist Junji Delfino and Chinese writer Li Zi Shu to participate by reading Murakami's works in Mandarin.

Before this ingenious, Tay is invited to share his views on jazz music and literature in a talk.

許郁瑛三重奏音樂會及講座

YuYing Hsu Trio Concert and Talk

台灣爵士鋼琴家、作曲家、編曲家、音樂製作人許郁瑛為紐約州立大學帕切斯學院爵士鋼琴演奏碩士，曾出版多張個人專輯，當中2017年《Happened, Happening 現在》榮獲第 29 屆金曲獎三項大獎肯定：「演奏類最佳專輯製作人獎」、「演奏類最佳專輯獎」與「最佳演奏錄音專輯獎」。 2019 年更以〈第三章：印度、義大利與我〉一曲，榮獲第 30 屆金曲獎「演奏類最佳作曲人獎」。自 2022 年起，許郁瑛擔任張惠妹《aMEI ASMR世界巡迴演唱會》特邀嘉賓並參與巡迴演出。許氏曾與多位著名音樂家合作：爵士鼓傳奇人物 Albert "Tootie" Heath、爵士鼓大師 John Riley，豎笛與薩克斯風大師 Paquito D'Rivera、格林美獎提名編曲家/小號手 Michael Philip Mossman、小號手 Alex Sipiagin、Brian Lynch、奧地利國際知名小提琴家 Benjamin Schmid、法國鋼琴即興大師 Jean-François Zygel、 義大利低音提琴手 Giuseppe Bassi和台灣鼓王黃瑞豐等。

許氏將與日本低音提琴手Takashi Sugawa和德法裔鼓手Gabriel Hahn組成三重奏來澳獻技，一同演繹她的原創音樂。

另外許氏亦會於音樂會前舉行講座，分享她的創作歷程和對當代音樂發展的看法。

YuYing Hsu, Taiwanese jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and music producer, holds a Master degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase College. She has released several solo albums, among which her 2017 album, Happened, Happening, received three major awards at the 29th Golden Melody Awards (GMA): "Best Instrumental Album Producer," "Best Instrumental Album," and "Best Instrumental Recording Album". In 2019, she won the "Best Instrumental Composer" award at the 30th Golden Melody Awards for her track "Chapter III: India, Italy, and I." Since 2022, Hsu has been featured on A-Mei's (Chang Hui-mei) “aMEI ASMR World Tour”, participating in the concert series.

Hsu has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including jazz drum legend Albert "Tootie" Heath, drum master John Riley, clarinet and saxophone master Paquito D'Rivera, Grammy-nominated arranger and trumpeter Michael Philip Mossman, trumpeters Alex Sipiagin and Brian Lynch, internationally renowned Austrian violinist Benjamin Schmid, French piano improvisation master Jean-François Zygel, Italian bassist Giuseppe Bassi, and Taiwan's "Drum King" Huang Rui-feng, among others.

Hsu will form a trio with Japanese bassist Takashi Sugawa and German-French drummer Gabriel Hahn to perform in Macau, and share her original music.

Macau Jazz New Forces Concert

本會致力推動本澳爵士樂發展並提高本地演奏水平，多屆爵士週都加入本地樂隊專場演出。今屆澳門青年爵士樂團多個隊伍將全力參與，共同展現澳門樂界新景象。

Macau Jazz Promotion Association is dedicated to promoting the development of jazz in Macau and raising the level of local performances. In recent editions of the Jazz Week, special performances by local bands have been included. This year, multiple groups from the Macau Youth Jazz Orchestra will fully participate to showcase a new outlook for Macau's music scene.
